Sha'arit Yisrael - Who We Are and What We Believe .

Purpose:

The primary purpose and ministry of Sha'arit Yisrael is to present the Good News of Yeshua as the Jewish Messiah to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and to unbelieving Gentiles; thus fulfilling Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the good news of Messiah, for it is the power of G-d which leads to salvation to everyone that trusts; to the Jew first and then to the Gentile."

We seek to provide a secure environment for worship and fellowship that allows for a Jewish cultural expression of Messianic faith in Messiah Yeshua.

Messianic Judaism

Messianic Judaism is the belief that Yeshua is Adonai and the Redeemer spoken of in the Tenach (Old Testament). We believe that He is the Messiah for whom Jewish people all over the world, and throughout history have been waiting for.

In Messianic Judaism, the Holy Days and traditions that are consistent with the Scriptures are observed. Whether we are Jew or Gentile, we do not leave the Jewish identity, heritage or culture. We have experienced the fulfillment of the age-old longing of our people for redemption as foretold by Moses and the prophets. Our commitment to our people also encompasses our love for the land of Israel and our concern for the welfare of Jewish people worldwide.

G-d's call to us to identify with and to remain a part of His people Israel, in no way means that we separate ourselves from other followers of Yeshua. In fact, we encourage all those with a "Jewish heart" to join with us in working for Israel's spiritual restoration. We feel that only through the Messiah Yeshua can the "middle wall of partition" be broken down, and true unity between Jew and Gentile achieved.
We Believe:

  •     that the Bible, composed of both the Tenakh and New Covenant, is the only harmonious, infallible and authoritative Word of G-d.
  •     that G-d is "echad" (one) as declared in the Sh'ma (Dt. 6:4). He is a compound unity, manifesting Himself as Father, Son and Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).
  •     that Yeshua the Messiah is both deity and human. He is the "seed of a woman" as promised in Genesis 3:15; and that His virgin birth was to be a sign to Israel of His Messiahship.
  •     in Messiah's miracles, His vicarious death as our substitute, His bodily resurrection, His ascension and His future return to establish His kingdom upon the earth.
  •     in the present ministry of the Spirit and in the exercise of all of the biblical gifts of the Spirit.
  •     that spiritual deliverance is only available to those who place their trust in Yeshua's substitutionary work. The regenerating work of the Holy Spirit is essential to personal salvation.
  •     in the spiritual unity of all believers in Yeshua and that all are now partakers of the spiritual inheritance of Israel. However, this unity does not eliminate our individual identities.
  •     that no one is justified through keeping the Law of Moses. Rather, the Torah was given as a guide for G-dly living. Since G-d is immutable, the spiritual principles embodied in Torah are binding upon believers today.
  •     in G-d's everlasting covenant relationship with the Jewish people, which includes physical and spiritual blessings. In the end times, all of Israel will turn to G-d and accept Yeshua as their Messiah. Then will the Law go forth from Zion and the Word of the L-rd from Jerusalem.
  •     that the leadership of the Body of Messiah is to rest in the five-fold giftings of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher.
